IIT Indore invites applications from highly motivated and research oriented students for its following Full Time Regular PG and Ph.D Programmes
School of Basic Sciences
M.Sc/M.Sc + Ph.D Dual Degree
Chemistry: Minimum first Class (60% marks for General/OBC (55% for SC/ST) category in aggregate or as specified by the university/institute, or CPI/CGPA of 6.0 for Genera/OBC (5.5 for SC/ST) category on the scale of 10, with corresponding proportional requirements when the scales are other than on 10, or a first class as specified by the university/institute awarding the degree) bachelor’s degree with Chemistry as a subject for three years/six semesters and should have passed Mathematics at (10+2) level, and qualification in JAM-2013 in Chemistry

Physics: Minimum first Class (60% marks for General/OBC (55% for SC/ST) category in aggregate or as specified by the university/institute, or CPI/CGPA of 6.0 for General/OBC (5.5 for SC/ST) category on the scale of 10, with corresponding proportional requirements when the scales are other than on 10, or a first class as specified by the University/Institute awarding the degree) bachelor’s degree with Physics as a subject for at least two years/four semesters and Mathematics for at least one year/two semesters, and qualification in JAM-2013 in Physics
Ph.D (Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics): Minimum first class (60% marks for General/OBC (55% for SC/ST) category in aggregate or as specified by the university/institute, or CPI/CGPA of 6.0 for General/OBC (5.5 for SC/ST) category on the scale of 10, with corresponding proportional requirements when the scales are other than on 10, or a first class as specified by the University/Institute awarding the degree) Master degree in a Science with UGC-CSIR-JRF/NET qualification or equivalent fellowship; or minimum first class (60% marks for General/OBC (55% for SC/ST) category in aggregate or as specified by the university/institute, or CPI/CGPA of 6.0 for General/OBC (5.5 for SC/ST) category on the scale of 10, with corresponding proportional requirements when the scales are other than on 10, or a first class as specified by the University/Institute awarding the degree); Master degree in relevant branch of Engineering/ Technology; or B.Tech from an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) with a minimum CPI of 8.0

Production and Industrial Engineering: Minimum first class (60% marks for General/OBC (55% for SC/ST) category in aggregate or as specified by the university/institute, or CPI/CGPA of 6.0 for General/OBC (5.5 for SC/ST) category on the scale of 10, with corresponding proportional requirements when the scales are other than on 10, or a first class as specified by the University/Institute awarding the degree) B.E./B.Tech or equivalent degree in Mechanical, Production, Industrial, Manufacturing, Materials and Metallurgy, Mechatronics, or Automobile Engineering; and valid GATE qualification in Mechanical (ME) or Production and Industrial (PI) Engineering
For IIT graduates with CPI equal to or more than 8.0, the GATE qualification is exempted

Ph.D (Philosophy, English, Psychology, Sociology): Minimum first class (60% marks for General/OBC (55% for SC/ST) category in aggregate or as specified by the university/institute, or CPI/CGPA of 6.0 for General/OBC (5.5 for SC/ST) category on the scale of 10, with corresponding proportional requirements when the scales are other than on 10, or a first class as specified by the University/Institute awarding the degree) Master degree in relevant discipline of HSS with UGC-JRF/NET qualification or equivalent Fellowship; or minimum first class in the course work component (if any) of M.Phil degree in relevant discipline of HSS; or B.Tech from an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) with a minimum CPI of 8.0; or minimum first class master degree in Science/Engineering/Environmental Science/International Business with UGC-JRF/NET qualification or equivalent Fellowship may also be considered

Biosciences and Bioengineering
Ph.D (Bioscience and Bioengineering): Minimum first class (60% marks for General/OBC (55% for SC/ST) category in aggregate or as specified by the university/institute, or CPI/CGPA of 6.0 for General/OBC (5.5 for SC/ST) category on the scale of 10, with corresponding proportional requirements when the scales are other than on 10, or a first class as specified by the University/Institute awarding the degree) Masters degree in engineering (Computer Science and Engineering, Biomedical, Electronics, Mechanical, Chemical, Aerospace, Biotechnology, Signal Processing, or any relevant branch with knowledge in Optics and basic biology); or minimum first class bachelors degree in engineering (Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical, Biomedical, Electronics, Mechanical, Chemical, Aerospace, Biotechnology) with a valid GATE qualification; or B.Tech degree from an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) with a minimum CPI of 8.0; or minimum first class masters degree in Science (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biomedical Science, Applied Mathematics, Mathematics, Physics, System Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Biophysics) valid GATE qualification; or UGC-CSIR-JRF/NET qualification; or equivalent fellowship

After submitting the application online, the same is to be downloaded and the signed hard copy along with recent photograph and self attested relevant certificates, document and statement of purpose must be sent to the Deputy Registrar (Academic Affairs), Indian Institute of Technology Indore, PACL Campus, 113/2-B (Opp to Veterinary College), Village Hernia Khedi, Indore-Mhow Road, Indore-453446, Madhya Pradesh on or before 09th April, 2013
There is no application fee
The application received after the last date of application or not meeting the qualifying criteria will not be considered for further processing and no request will be entertained in this matter
The envelope of the application must clearly mention application for admission in (name of the programme and discipline) for academic year 2013-14
